SpotOn POS

Built for restaurants, by restaurants.

SpotOn doesn't pretend to do retail. It doesn't pretend to do services. It's a restaurant POS, built from the ground up for restaurants — with hardware designed in collaboration with their Restaurant Advisory Council of working operators, and software built around the realities of running a kitchen and a dining room at the same time.

The result is a system that handles the chaos of a Friday night dinner rush gracefully — tableside ordering on rugged handhelds, kitchen displays that route tickets in real time, integrated reservations and waitlist, commission-free online ordering, and a loyalty/marketing engine that actually drives repeat visits.

And when you buy through us, you get dedicated reps who actually know your restaurant, a contract walk-through before you sign anything, honest disclosure on processing rates, and an escalation path beyond the manufacturer's call center.

Built for

Restaurant operators who want tech that works.

01 / Full-service dining

Tableside, end-to-end

Handhelds let servers take orders, send tickets, and accept payments at the table. Tables turn faster, kitchen tickets arrive sooner, and the check experience feels seamless to your guests.

02 / Bars & nightlife

High-volume, fast tabs

Tab management built for bars, with split checks, customer profiles, and fast lookups. The 15.6" Station handles bar volume; the handhelds work the floor for cocktail and bottle service.

03 / QSR & cafes

Counter service, simplified

The compact Station 10" (Counter) is built for limited counter space, with optional guest-facing display, contactless payments, and the same full SpotOn platform underneath.

Hardware

The SpotOn restaurant lineup.

Premium hardware designed in collaboration with working restaurant operators. IP54 rated for spills and dust, built for the busiest dining rooms.

SpotOn Station 15.6"

The front-of-house anchor

The flagship terminal — full 15.6" HD touchscreen designed for fast menu navigation and complex modifiers. Pivots for bar-top mounting and pairs with a customer-facing display for tip and signature capture.

SpotOn Station 10" (Counter)

Compact counter-service POS

The 10" low-profile station for limited counter space — cafes, bakeries, and small QSR operations. Same SpotOn platform, smaller footprint, optional guest-facing display attachment.

SpotOn Handheld 6.5"

The tableside game-changer

6.5" HD touchscreen with built-in EMV card reader, leather hand strap, water/drop resistance, and 4G/WiFi connectivity. Servers take orders, split checks, accept payments, and process tips at the table — without ever walking back to the workstation.

7" Customer-Facing Display

Guest-facing transactions

Attaches to the Station 15" or sits beside the 10". Shows order items, totals, tip prompts, and signature capture — guests always know exactly what they're being charged for before they pay.

Kitchen Display System

Real-time ticket routing

Replace paper tickets with screens. Orders flow directly from the POS or handheld to the kitchen instantly. Cuts paper waste, eliminates lost tickets, and speeds up service.

Cash drawer & printer

Standard restaurant peripherals

Heavy-duty 16" black cash drawer with key lock and printer-driven interface. Epson TM-M30 thermal receipt printers — fast, reliable, modular paper loading. Optional remote kitchen printers and barcode scanners available.

Software included

Restaurant tools that actually move the needle.

Commission-free online ordering

Customers order from your branded SpotOn ordering site, and the orders flow straight into your POS queue alongside in-house orders. No per-order commission like the third-party delivery apps charge.

SpotOn Reserve — reservations & waitlist

Built-in reservation booking, table management, and waitlist. Customers reserve from your site or Google profile; hosts manage seating directly in the POS. No separate OpenTable subscription required.

SpotOn Loyalty & marketing

Native loyalty program with customer profiles, points, and rewards. Customer database auto-populates from transactions, reservations, and online orders. Email marketing tools built in, so you can run targeted campaigns without a separate Mailchimp.

Seat & Send pre-ordering

Guests can order food and drinks ahead of their reservation. Orders fire to the kitchen when the party is seated. Speeds up service and increases average ticket sizes.

Review & reputation management

Monitor and respond to Google, Yelp, and Facebook reviews from within the SpotOn dashboard. Identify trends and respond fast — the kind of reputation hygiene that makes a real difference for a restaurant's ratings.

Labor scheduling & reporting

Schedule employees, track hours, monitor labor cost as a percentage of sales — all in the same platform as your POS data. Advanced reporting that ties food cost, labor cost, and revenue together.

Offline mode

Internet drops? SpotOn keeps running. Order entry, kitchen routing, and even card processing continue locally and sync when connectivity returns.

Why buy through us

Same SpotOn. Better deal.

SpotOn POS is sold by SpotOn directly and through a small group of long-standing reseller partners. The hardware is the same. The software is the same. The 24/7 SpotOn support is the same. What you get with us is everything that happens alongside that.

Dedicated rep who knows your restaurant

Buy direct, you're one of tens of thousands of merchants in SpotOn's queue. Buy from us, you get a dedicated rep who knows your menu, your team, and your operation. When something needs escalating, you have a name to call.

Honest disclosure on the program

SpotOn POS comes with integrated SpotOn Payments — that's part of how the platform is structured, and it's how the hardware financing options work. What's negotiable is your rate. We quote with full disclosure on the processing side, so you can see exactly what you're paying and what the alternative would look like.

Contract walk-through, line by line

SpotOn's standard merchant agreement has terms that matter — first-year cancellation fees, hardware buyout if you switch processors, software license adjustments. We walk you through every clause before you sign so you know exactly what you're committing to.

Local install & menu build

We handle hardware staging, on-site install, and we work alongside SpotOn's menu team to get your full menu built out, modifier groups configured, and your floor plan mapped before launch day. Your staff is trained before service starts.

Same- or next-day funding

Settled by morning, in your bank by close of business. Standard.

Frequently asked

SpotOn, answered.

How much does SpotOn cost?

SpotOn has two main pricing structures. The "Quick Start" plan bundles hardware into a higher processing rate ($0/month software, ~2.89% + 25¢ per transaction with minimums). The "POS Essentials" plan is approximately $55/month per station with a lower processing rate (~1.99% + 25¢). Hardware purchased outright ranges from $750 to $1,350+ depending on configuration. We quote real numbers based on your specific operation — send us your details and we'll send back honest pricing.

Can I use my own card processor with SpotOn?

SpotOn is an integrated platform — the POS, software, and payments are designed to work together as a single system. Most SpotOn merchants use SpotOn Payments because that's how the hardware financing and pricing structure work. Switching processors later is possible but comes with conversion fees (typically $995) and software license adjustments. If you specifically need full processor flexibility, Clover or a more open POS like CRE is a better fit. We can walk you through the trade-offs honestly.

What's the contract length?

SpotOn's POS Essentials plan is advertised as month-to-month. However, there are some specifics that matter: cancellation within the first year requires paying the difference between any discounted hardware price and full list price. After one year, you own your equipment outright and can cancel with notice. We walk you through these terms before you sign so there are no surprises in month 14.

What's the difference between SpotOn and SkyTab?

Both are restaurant-first POS systems with handhelds, online ordering, reservations, and loyalty included. SpotOn uses premium proprietary hardware (Station 15", Station 10", Handheld 6.5") designed with their Restaurant Advisory Council and tends to have a more polished platform with deeper marketing tools. SkyTab uses PAX-based handhelds and Shift4-built hardware, with a $29.99/month software cost and free hardware as their hook. SpotOn often suits operators who want premium hardware and don't mind paying for the platform; SkyTab suits operators optimizing for low monthly software cost.

How long does install take?

Hardware ships in 1–2 weeks once your merchant account is approved. SpotOn's menu team builds your menu in parallel — typically 1–2 weeks depending on menu complexity. Once hardware and menu are ready, on-site install and staff training is usually a single day. Most restaurants are live within 3–4 weeks of contract signature.

Does SpotOn work if my internet goes down?

Yes. SpotOn has automatic offline mode — order entry, kitchen routing, and card processing continue locally during outages and sync when connectivity returns. Critical for restaurants that can't afford to stop taking payments mid-rush.

Does SpotOn work for retail or services?

SpotOn does have retail and field-service products, but the platform is strongest by far for restaurants and bars. If you're a retail operation, we'd recommend looking at Clover, Square, or CRE first. If you're a services business, Square or Clover are usually a better fit. SpotOn is excellent if you're in hospitality; less so if you're not.

Who shouldn't buy SpotOn?

SpotOn is purpose-built for restaurants — full-service, bars, QSR, and cafes. It's not the best fit for retail (look at Clover, Square, or CRE), c-stores (look at NRS), or service businesses (Square or Clover). If you want full processor flexibility from day one, Clover or another open POS is also a better choice. We'd rather steer you to the right system than sell you the wrong one.
