Union POS

The POS that actually keeps up with a busy Saturday night.

Most POS systems on the market are designed for restaurants — table service, kitchen displays, course pacing. They handle bars as an afterthought. Union is the opposite. It was built from day one for bars, nightclubs, breweries, and high-volume venues where the rules are different: hundreds of open tabs at once, customers paying cash one minute and dropping a card the next, three bartenders sharing a station, and a Saturday night rush that can move $20K through the system in four hours.

Union handles all of it. Built on iPad with a cloud-first architecture, it supports 1,000+ simultaneous tabs without lag, lets you close every open tab at end-of-night with a single button press, and keeps running locally if your internet drops mid-rush. The interface is intentionally simple — new bartenders are productive in a single training shift.

When you buy through us, you get dedicated reps who know nightlife operations, on-site install and training, our processing built into the system from day one with interchange-plus pricing, and an escalation path beyond the manufacturer's call center.

Built for

The venues where restaurant POSes break.

01 / High-volume bars

Cocktail bars, sports bars, taverns

Hundreds of tabs, fast pours, multiple bartenders per station. Union handles the speed and the volume without slowing down. Pre-authorization, tab-on-card-file, and split tenders all built in.

02 / Nightclubs & lounges

Cover charge, VIP, bottle service

Door payments for cover charges, bottle service workflows with sparkler tracking, VIP table management, and section assignments. Built for venues with a dance floor, not just a dining room.

03 / Event venues & breweries

Tap rooms, concert venues, breweries

Live event ticket integration, fast tap room ordering, beer flight tracking, and pop-up station setup for one-off events. Modular pricing means you only pay for the features you actually use.

Standout features

What Union does better than restaurant POSes.

Bar operations are different from restaurant operations. Union's features reflect that.

1,000+ tabs, no lag

Built for actual volume

Tab management designed for nightlife reality — hundreds of open cards, simultaneous bartender lookups, real-time updates across every station. Most POSes start slowing down at 50-100 tabs. Union keeps moving.

One-button close-all

End-of-night without the chaos

One of nightlife's worst problems: closing 200+ open tabs at last call. Union solves it with a single button press that captures all open authorizations at once. The closing manager goes home an hour earlier.

Offline mode

Internet drops, service doesn't

If your internet goes down mid-rush, Union keeps taking orders and capturing payment authorizations locally. When connectivity returns, everything syncs. Zero downtime even during the busiest hours.

Guest-led ordering

Customers order from their phone

Optional but powerful — guests scan a QR code at their table or seat and order directly through the Union app. Bartenders fulfill from the same queue. Union reports up to 28% revenue lift from venues that adopt it.

Live 86 countdown

Real-time inventory at the bar

Track inventory live — when a bottle of premium tequila is running low, every station sees it. Items can be 86'd across all terminals in seconds, or counted down so bartenders know when to suggest alternatives.

Distributor rewards program

Unique to Union

Union has direct relationships with beverage distributors who offer promotional rewards to guests for ordering specific products. Guests scan a QR code, Union pays the discount directly through the app — and your venue gets the volume lift without giving up margin.

Why buy through us

Same Union. Better deal.

Union POS is sold by Union directly and through select reseller partners like Payment Gurus. The platform is the same, the hardware is the same. What we add is everything that comes around the install.

Dedicated rep who knows nightlife

Nightlife is its own animal — different volume curves, different cash-handling reality, different security and tip-handling challenges than restaurants or retail. We've installed Union for cocktail bars, sports bars, nightclubs, and breweries. We know what works for each.

Honest, disclosed processing

We process payments through your Union system with interchange-plus pricing and full disclosure — no buy-rate markups, no opaque tiered pricing. You see exactly what the card networks charge and exactly what we charge on top. Critical for bars where transaction volume adds up fast.

On-site install & bartender training

We handle hardware staging, iPad configuration, network setup, and on-site staff training before launch. Most bars are running a full shift the day after install. Union also provides 24/7 US-based phone support, in-person installations, and a dedicated account manager in your city — we coordinate with them so you get one consistent experience.

Modular pricing dialed in

Union's pricing is modular — you pay only for the features you use. Most bars don't need every add-on. We help you scope the right starting configuration so you're not paying for features you won't touch.

The expansion path when you grow

Many bars start with one station and add more as they expand to additional rooms, patios, or even second locations. We handle the rollout — consistent settings, consolidated reporting, multi-station setup — so growth doesn't mean re-platforming.

Frequently asked

Union POS, answered.

How much does Union POS cost?

Union uses modular pricing — you pay only for the features you use. Starting pricing is around $69/feature/month, with most bars running a few core modules. Hardware is separate (iPads, card readers, printers, cash drawers). We quote real numbers based on your specific venue, station count, and the modules you actually need — not a generic list price that doesn't apply to your operation.

What makes Union different from SkyTab or SpotOn?

SkyTab and SpotOn are restaurant-first systems that also work for bars. Union is bar-first. It's specifically designed for high-volume venues — the 1,000+ tab capacity, one-button close-all, and guest-led ordering features are built around bar workflows, not table-service restaurants. If you're a restaurant that happens to have a bar, SkyTab or SpotOn is usually right. If you're a bar (or nightclub) that maybe also serves food, Union is usually right.

Can Union handle a busy nightclub on a Saturday?

This is exactly what Union was built for. The system supports 1,000+ simultaneous tabs without lag, handles multiple bartenders sharing stations, and processes high transaction volumes during peak hours. Offline mode means a router hiccup doesn't shut you down. The one-button close-all means you're not closing tabs manually until 4am.

Does Union work for restaurants too?

Yes — Union supports restaurants and is used by some that have heavy bar volume. That said, for restaurant-first operations, SkyTab or SpotOn typically have deeper table-service features (course pacing, kitchen displays, tableside handhelds). Union is the better choice when bar volume is your main operation.

What hardware do I need?

Union runs on iPad — typically one iPad per station plus card readers, receipt printers, and cash drawers. Modular setup means you can start with one or two stations and add more as you grow. We spec the hardware based on your bar's layout, station count, and expected volume.

How does the guest-led ordering feature work?

Guests scan a QR code at their table, seat, or section using their phone — they order and pay directly through the Union app, and bartenders fulfill from the same queue as in-person orders. Union reports significant revenue increases for venues that adopt it (up to 28% in their case studies) because guests order more when they're not waiting for a bartender to make eye contact. It's optional, not required, and works alongside traditional bar service.

What about the distributor rewards program?

Union has direct relationships with beverage distributors who fund promotional offers — for example, a tequila brand might pay $1 back to a customer who orders their tequila. The guest scans the QR code, Union processes the discount through the app, and the venue gets the volume lift without giving up margin. It's a unique value-add that's hard to find elsewhere.

Who shouldn't buy Union POS?

Union is purpose-built for high-volume bars, nightclubs, and event venues. It's not the best fit for restaurants with minimal bar (look at SkyTab or SpotOn), c-stores (NRS POS), specialty retail (CRE or NRS), or service businesses. If your operation is anything other than a high-volume drinking establishment, there's almost certainly a better POS for your needs. We'd rather steer you to the right system than sell you the wrong one.
