SkyTab and SpotOn are restaurant-first systems that also work for bars. Union is bar-first. It's specifically designed for high-volume venues — the 1,000+ tab capacity, one-button close-all, and guest-led ordering features are built around bar workflows, not table-service restaurants. If you're a restaurant that happens to have a bar, SkyTab or SpotOn is usually right. If you're a bar (or nightclub) that maybe also serves food, Union is usually right.

Yes — Union supports restaurants and is used by some that have heavy bar volume. That said, for restaurant-first operations, SkyTab or SpotOn typically have deeper table-service features (course pacing, kitchen displays, tableside handhelds). Union is the better choice when bar volume is your main operation.

Union runs on iPad — typically one iPad per station plus card readers, receipt printers, and cash drawers. Modular setup means you can start with one or two stations and add more as you grow. We spec the hardware based on your bar's layout, station count, and expected volume.

Guests scan a QR code at their table, seat, or section using their phone — they order and pay directly through the Union app, and bartenders fulfill from the same queue as in-person orders. It's optional, not required, and works alongside traditional bar service.
